St. John The Evangelist
R.C. Church, Center Moriches, N.Y.
Inspired by our patron, St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Center Moriches seeks to bring the light of Christ to a world in need, so that as Christ has done, we may also do. From the celebration of the Eucharist, we are sent forth to serve God and neighbor through ministries of formation, education and outreach.

St. John's Outreach Ministry and office Information
Our parish, overall, and our parish social ministry, specifically, are here to serve you in any way we can. If you are in need, please reach out to us at St. John’s. A great place to start is the Outreach Office coordinated by Sister Ann and our amazing volunteer ministers. Our Outreach Office is located in the Red Barn. Please call to make an appointment so we can connect you to our services here at SJE or link you to other services.
Never be embarrassed to reach out. We may not be able to address every need. If we can’t, we’ll try to connect to someone who can assist you. Please always reach out to us here at SJE.

May 2017: We are in need of a few people to help in the Outreach Office as receptionists. This is simply to greet people, answer the phone, and take messages. We need someone for Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings between 10:00 and 12:30. Can you help us? The more volunteers we have the fewer times you would have to come! All volunteers must complete the background check (available in the Rectory) and the Virtus program which we will soon be giving in our parish. However you can register for it online by going to: www.drvc.org and looking up “Protecting God’s Children” or “Virtus” and scroll down to find a place and time convenient for you. During the month of April, through your generosity, we were able to serve others in the following ways:
- food for 338 people
- rent help for 1 family
- assistance with utilities - 15
- basic needs -193 people
- transportation (gas vouchers) - 23
- community meals -18
- homeless initiative - 25.
We are so very grateful for all that you do. God bless your generosity.
